White Hot

I fell in love with handbag designer Kim White when I met her at market this time last year in New York. I absolutely adore her prints and creative style. What makes her handbags so incredibly unique is that they are all made from vintage automotive fabrics. How cool is that?? Read more about Kim and shop online here.

Melt My Heart

If you know me at all, you know I am, if nothing else, two things: a lover of all things Christmas, and a total hopeless romantic. This scene from "Love Actually" is probably my favorite single scene in any movie around. It is the perfect combination of heart-meltingly sweet and endearingly quirky and creative (come on, what girl doesn't wish she were in Kiera Knightly's shoes at this moment?!?) and it gets me every time! If you haven't seen this movie (or haven't seen it in a while), follow this link to watch the clip...and then make some hot chocolate, build a fire and snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and watch the whole thing. I know that's what I'm planning on doing in the very near future!

Can you spot the knock-off?

One of these is not like the other....can you spot which one of these Coach bags is a knock-off??

If you guessed the top one, you're correct! I scored this look-alike on the streets of 5th Avenue while window shopping with Jason in NYC this weekend. Regular pricetag: Upwards of $300. My bargain: $40. I'm very much ok with that!

A Thanksgiving to Remember

Every year on Thanksgiving, I am a sucker for the Macy's Day Parade. I always begin my Thanksgiving morning watching the incredible floats, balloons, and talented performers as they roll into Herald Square, and every year I think "Next year, I am going there." Well, this year, I did! I grabbed Jason, booked a flight and hopped a plane to NYC the night before the parade. We woke up bright and early Thursday morning, grabbed our Starbucks coffee, donned our warmest jackets and set out to find the very best viewing spot along 7th Ave. Luckily, we found a spot around 55th and 7th where the sidewalk was a little bit elevated, so our views, even 3 or 4 people deep, were perfect! Above are some of my favorite floats and balloons from the parade. It was an incredible experience, certainly one I will never forget! I can't wait to go back next year (*wink wink*)!!

Oh Christmas Tree

Anyone who knows me knows that pink is my signature color. Well, this year, I'm ready to take my love for the color one step further by incorporating it into our Christmas! I have been lusting over these pink trees for over a year now, and I think it might be time to invest in one myself! As a side note, I've already asked Jason what he thinks about the idea, and it did not go over well ("Pink is not Christmas," he said, to which I replied, "Pink is a shade of red, so yes it is!"). You don't think he'll notice if I sneak it in, do you?? :)

Beauty WILL Rise

One of my favorite artists and friends, Steven Curtis Chapman, has released a new album called "Beauty Will Rise". I purchased my very own copy of it yesterday from iTunes. This album is raw, real, heart-wrenching and hopeful response to an unthinkable set of circumstances, the loss of little Maria. A friend introduced me to the song February 20 and I must say that this is the song that continues to stop me in my tracks. I sat down this morning and cried tears of sadness, hope, and joy as I listened to his poignant recount of a day that will live on forever. Thank you, Steven, Mary Beth, and all of the Chapmans for continuting to show faith through love.

WTF???

There are no words. Period.
